Airoha Technology Corp.
AIROHA and MediaTek have launched the AN9510, the world's first integrated FTTR solution, enabling Mesh networks with Wi-Fi 7 MLO (Multi-link Operation) and FTTR (Fiber-to-the-Room) technology.
Key features:
- AN9510 10G-PON SoC and MediaTek's Filogic 660 Wi-Fi 7 chip enhance low-power architecture and extend Wi-Fi range by 30%.
- Innovative Mesh backhaul combines fiber and Wi-Fi 7 MLO for the first hybrid mesh network platform.
- Wireless backhauls leverages 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with Wi-Fi 7 MLO, offering a 40% performance boost over single-band Wi-Fi 6.
- FTTR technology in AN9510 reduces latency from 30 ms to 1 ms, significantly improving in-home mesh solutions and user experience.
In this year, AIROHA and MediaTek have further advanced their technology by introducing the FTTR + Wi-Fi 7 MLO hybrid mesh solution, powered by the AIROHA AN9510 and MediaTek Filogic 660. This development has led to significant enhancements:
- The solution utilizes both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for Mesh backhaul through MLO. Unlike typical solutions that construct mesh backhaul with a single band, this dual-band MLO approach has demonstrated a 24%~40% performance improvement in MediaTek’s test environment.
- Even in the presence of in-home blind spots, the integration of fiber compensates for Wi-Fi backhaul limitations, ensuring no area is left disconnected.
- Based on the G.994 G.fin standard, the FTTR technology offers unparalleled standardization and flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of applications from residential to enterprise environments.
By merging FTTR with Wi-Fi 7 MLO to facilitate Mesh networks, a significantly superior experience is achieved compared to traditional methods that rely solely on Wi-Fi for mesh construction. This innovation allows Telcos to enhance in-home connectivity services dramatically, elevating the overall user experience to new heights.
