Airoha Technology, A Key Subsidiary in MediaTek Group.
“Synergizes through small and large design platforms”

Airoha Technology constitutes a crucial component of the MediaTek Group’s strategic layout. While MediaTek’s chips are predominantly large platforms developed by R&D teams numbering in the thousands, Airoha Technology focuses on small platforms engineered by agile teams of hundreds. The two parties operate under a symbiotic relationship of “Large and Small Platforms, Division of Labor and Cooperation,” enabling the delivery of higher value and more comprehensive solutions to serve global customers.

MediaTek Chairman MK Tsai: “Airoha Technology’s organizational scale is characterized by elasticity and flexibility, enabling quick responses to customer needs. The core team possesses over 20 years of experience, with a customer base that is already spread worldwide.”

Airoha Technology was formed by combining the IoT division of its parent company, MediaTek, along with Airoha Technology (the predecessor), EcoNet, and Audiowise—bringing together three companies and four dedicated teams. The core leadership boasts over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to the consolidation, both Airoha and EcoNet were already operating as MediaTek subsidiaries.

Following the merger, Airoha Technology has demonstrated substantial efficacy across talent acquisition, product line strategizing, and advanced technology investments. Furthermore, leveraged by the “Large and Small Platforms, Division of Labor and Cooperation” operational paradigm with MediaTek, this integration will unlock even greater synergies and competitive advantages.

Specific Operational Proven Records

Since 2017, backed by the robust support of parent company MediaTek, Airoha Technology has proactively “expanded its European and American customer base,” heavily invested in the development of “high-margin chips,” and simultaneously accelerated its “Ethernet chip R&D.” The management team continues to optimize the corporate structure—prioritizing high-value semiconductor innovation, deploying advanced technologies, and mastering leading-edge process nodes—resulting in steady, robust growth in both revenue and profitability.

Presently, Airoha Technology ranks among the top three in global market share across three core chip series: “Bluetooth® Audio/True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Earbuds,” “Fiber-optic Broadband,” and “Satellite Positioning.” Firmly established within the global leading cohort, Airoha serves numerous globally recognized marquee brand clients.

Two Major Domains, Five Chip Series

Airoha Technology is an IC design company deeply dedicated to two core domains: Wireless Edge AI and Fixed Networking Infrastructure.

Airoha two major domains and five chip series

Within the Fixed Networking Infrastructure domain, Airoha Technology's "Broadband", "Ethernet" and “PAM4 DSP” chip series mutually integrate and align with MediaTek’s Wi-Fi Filogic and 5G FWA solutions on both technological and commercial fronts. Together, they provide higher value, end-to-end solutions to serve global customers.

Within the Wireless Edge AI domain, Airoha offers two chip series: “Short-range Wireless Product (encompassing Bluetooth audio and Bluetooth transmission)” and “Satellite Positioning.” Through strategic division of labor and cooperation with the parent company’s large platform chips—including 5G, Wi-Fi Filogic, and Auto—these series address the escalating complexity and diverse integration requirements of modern edge devices, serving as the foundational infrastructure supporting last-mile innovative applications.

Strategic Investment in Iterative, High-Threshold Technologies

The “iterative technology” refers to technology that continuously evolves generation after generation, with new technical paradigms emerging periodically. As the industry perpetually establishes new standards, the end-products supported by these technologies also undergo constant innovation. Iteration signifies technological advancement and standard evolution; consequently, chip R&D must rigorously keep pace, demanding repeated optimization and backward compatibility with prior specifications. Therefore, the more generations a technology spans, the higher its difficulty and barriers to entry scale.

Taking Bluetooth® audio technology as an example, Airoha Technology joined the Bluetooth® SIG in 2006 during the second-generation Bluetooth® 2.x era. After 16 years of development up to 2022, the technology evolved into the fifth-generation Bluetooth® 5.x. Looking ahead to 2026, the forthcoming Bluetooth® 7.x standard is also set to be jointly formulated by major global tech giants with Airoha Technology’s active participation.

Similarly, fixed broadband development transitioned from the popularization of ADSL in 2001 through over two decades of evolution, culminating in the global deployment of 10G-PON services in 2022. By 2025, Airoha Technology became the world’s first IC supplier simultaneously equipped with software capabilities across three major open-source systems: OpenWrt, RDK-B, and prplOS. Moving into 2026, 25G-PON solutions are also fully market-ready.

Therefore, Airoha Technology strategically chooses to invest in “iterative, high threshold” technologies. This commitment ensures the R&D team continuously accumulates technical prowess, making our technology investments sustainable. We continually learn from top-tier clients, striving to be a pivotal partner that grows alongside our customers.

Future Growth Opportunities

Looking forward, Airoha Technology envisions immense developmental prospects across the global Fixed Networking Infrastructure and Wireless Edge AI domains. With global governments currently escalating investments in network infrastructure, Airoha Technology will continue to expand its footprint in networking terminal equipment, encompassing chips for Fiber Gateways, Ethernet Physical Layers (PHY), and Switches.

Simultaneously, Airoha Technology’s ultra-high-speed SerDes transmission and Laser Driver technologies also rank at the global forefront. The company has successfully developed the single-channel 50/100/200 bps PAM4 DSP + LDD/TIA chip series, primarily applied in high-speed optical modules for long-distance interconnections between Rack-to-Rack equipment within data centers. Notably, Airoha Technology’s PAM4 DSP + LDD chip stands as Asia’s first mass-produced PAM4 DSP chip solution for high-speed optical modules.

In the Wireless Edge AI domain, Short-range Wireless Product lines encompass “Bluetooth® audio” and “Bluetooth® transmission.” Beyond maintaining sustained adoption in flagship products by brand customers, Bluetooth® audio chips have extended into Gaming, Enterprise, Hearing Aids, and even the future public broadcasting market (Auracast™). Within the Bluetooth® transmission market, Airoha strategically targets premium applications. In addition to deepening collaborations with the top three global e-sports brands for high-end HID Bluetooth transmission chips (such as keyboards, gaming mice, and joystick controllers), it is also aggressively pioneering B2B industry applications and collaborating with partners to inject new momentum for mid-to-long-term growth.

Leveraging the combined Edge AI technological capabilities of the MediaTek Group and Airoha Technology, Airoha’s advanced features—ranging from scene recognition and noise cancellation in audio, to centimeter-level high precision in satellite positioning, and data offloading capabilities in high-speed transmission—empower clients to rapidly deploy AI into edge devices with ultra-low power consumption, significantly elevating customer product competitiveness.

Airoha Technology’s satellite positioning chips have already been adopted by automakers for pre-installed and aftermarket tracking applications. Furthermore, having passed the rigorous automotive-grade AEC-Q100 Grade 2 reliability standard tests and completed system integration with MediaTek’s Dimensity Auto platform, this achievement demonstrates Airoha Technology’s unyielding commitment to the safety and reliability of automotive satellite positioning chips, as well as its robust determination to penetrate the automotive market.

Continuously Translating Technological Innovation into Customer Competitiveness

Ching-Jiang Hsieh (CJ Hsieh), Chairman of Airoha Technology: “Airoha Technology is dedicated to translating the innovative capability of advanced technologies into our customers’ competitiveness. By continuously introducing high-value chips, we accelerate our customers’ time-to-market, achieving mutual market success through the launch of their products and services, and positioning ourselves as their most valuable partner. Airoha Technology will constantly learn from global leading brand customers and grow alongside them.”
