The Airoha ® EN8801F is a low power and highly integrated Ethernet copper (1000/100/10Base-T) to fiber (1000Base-X/100Base-FX) media converter chip solution. It performs robust data transmission and reception capabilities between Ethernet copper port and optical fiber port, is well-suited for media converting applications to effectively extend installation range of networking devices.

The Airoha ® EN8801F embedded Ethernet PHY that supports 1000, 100, and 10 Mbit/s data rate at copper port, and built-in in a SerDes PHY to support 1000, 100 Mbit/s data rate at optical fiber port. On the Ethernet twisted pair interface, the EN8801F is compliant with 10Base-T (IEEE 802.3), 100Base-TX (IEEE 802.3u) and 1000Base-T (IEEE 802.3ab). On the optical fiber interface, the EN8801F is compliant with 100Base-FX and 1000Base-TX. A 25MHz crystal is required, and optional external EEPROM is offered for internal register configuration.

The Airoha ® EN8801F supports rich functions, such crossover detection, auto-correction, polarity correction and auto-negotiation. It also supports the Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) feature to reduce idle mode power consumption. Pre-defined LEDs blinking behavior is implemented for link status indication.
